Thematics is a platform designed for discovering, collecting, and remixing visual ideas.

The inspiration for Thematics comes from my personal interest in creativity. I enjoy collecting visual ideas that are difficult to put into words. I’m not really a fan of words. Words are labels we put on things that reduce their true nature. We do this to feel like we understand them, but try explaining color to a blind person. Thinking visually allows the mind to flow freely and make unrelated connections that often lead to new ideas. And that’s what creativity is all about – it just takes a pinch of visual stimulation. With Thematics, I can do that, and you can too.

Currently, Thematics lacks a way to understand images on a deeper level. I need to develop a visual engine that recognizes visual relationships between images so it can make good recommendations. The search feature also needs reworking, as it currently relies on text found in cards. I’d also like to create global categories; for example, an area of interest like Board Games that picks cards from all decks dedicated to that topic. Ultimately, I want Thematics to remain simple, so there are no plans to expand social features such as chat or comments.

Although Thematics is free to use at the moment, running servers and hosting images can become costly. The platform's sustainability is an ongoing consideration, and support from the community will play a crucial role in its continued operation.
